Fall running

I was snuggling with Benjamin in our warm cozy bed today after his morning nap, trying to decide whether or not I should go for a run.  I know that each time I go for a run I feel amazing after, yet sometimes the act of getting dressed and getting out the door just seems like too much effort.  It was relatively warm out, it was sunny, and I only had one child to take care of.   I decided I had to seize the opportunity.

I got ready, packed up the stroller, bundled up Ben and decided to run to my parents’ house, which is about 3k away.  The leaves were spectacular today.   Here was my view:

Once I got to my parents’, I dropped off Ben and ran for another 4 km because it was just such a gorgeous day.   It was about 10c during my run – which I think is the ideal running temperature.

As predicted, I felt fantastically energized for the rest of the day.   Have to get all these runs in before the snow and ice are on the ground!
